"Welcome to Insidermedicine's If I Had, where we get a chance to ask an expert what they would do if they had a medical condition.

This week, we had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Chris Simpson, who is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Queen's University, the Medical Director of the Cardiac Program at Kingston's General Hospital, and the past President of the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society.

We asked Dr. Simpson what he would do if he discovered he had palpitations, or an irregular heart beat.

If I Had - Irregular Heart Beat - Dr. Chris Simpson

One of the key things he mentioned was how important it is to communicate that your heart is beating irregularly at your first contact in the emergency room.

I'd like to thank Dr. Simpson for lending his insight to Insidermedicine's If I Had."
